The Corona renderer creates daily builds for the purposes of testing. The daily builds have the largest bug fixes and contain other new features that may not be available in the normal versions. However, they are not guaranteed to work optimally in all the scene files. Some daily builds can also damage some scene files. Thus, you should take utmost care and save copies of the scene files before using the daily build. You can find the latest daily build versions in the coronas official site.
Daily builds are assessable to anyone that has box or Fair SaaS license. Once you access the file, you do not need to put in additional applications or other requests for the build to work. It is akin the developer’s version before it is incorporated to the next release.
Installing the daily build
Start by installing the regular version of corona if you do not have one just as yet. You also need to activate its license before going to the other steps. Head to the main website and download the daily build. The daily build files are located in the folders named with te date the daily builds were created. They are sometimes installed as installers in the main Corona folder.
After selecting the preferred version, the Corona Universal Installer will continue with the installation. However, if your computer happens to be an old Intel CPU or the AMD version, the installer will give you a warning that it will install a legacy version. Any CPU past the i3 version, it can work with the latest version.
Make a copy of their files onto the d Max root folder. Tese plugins include plugins/CoronaUtils201x.dlt, plugins/Corona201x.dlr and Corona_Release.dll. Ensure that you have already overwritten the present files.
Reverting to the official release
If the plugins do not work or cause some problems with the functionality of the Corona renderer, simply run your Universal installer. Use the “Clean up previous version” option. This will revert te Corona version to the regular one.
If you are using the 3d Max 2014, you can use the daily build folders of 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2015.
Warning:
Always make a backup of the file. Daily builds are never stable and sometimes may freeze the 3d Max or damage the scene. It is not always possible to reverse the damaged scene.
